RECYLE IT
As an artist there is an urge inside me for being creating all the time. I find in challenges a great inspirational source that’s why I like to push myself into other territories to explore.
I am aware of the earth resources I waste using acrylic paint. Sometimes I don’t have other choices but I believe we need to be responsable for the mediums we choose in order to delay our personal foot print in this planet. This conscious thought is related to the momentum we are experiencing as a society of extreme consumption and my personal relationship with it.
REMIX IT
I’ve been collecting old letters, papers and magazines from antiques stores through years. I started playing with this material and decided to take it further and challenged myself into a big format composition.
I always felt very confortable with collage as it is fun and it makes me get wild but at the same time is very precise and meticulous.
UPCYCLE IT
Feathers made from a letter from 1919, there is a wing made of an old comic of superman in the 60s, or other parts of the bird are made from an old NY fashion catalogue of the 30´s and so on….
“Giving another opportunity and value to a forgotten and almost rotten vintage material and turned it into color pigments has been very exiting.
I feel I am upcycling a historical vibe, kind of like traveling through time in every paper cut.”
