Well, first, the terms “print” or “prints” are those works of art on paper or canvas that are primarily reproductions of originals and which are always sold in multiples. Typically, these prints are reproductions of original art works created using oils, pastels, acrylics and watercolors. Exceptions are prints that are not reproductions, but which were originally created as prints; for example, digital illustration, which are DESIGNED AS ORIGINAL PRINTS as opposed to reproductions or original paintings.

First and fore most it’s quality and longevity. Archival art prints or giclée ART PRINTS are a pigment based printing process which is favored by collectors and archivists. The quality is unsurpassed and museum grade. Posters are dye based digital printing and while they are fade resistant, they don’t last too long but is a more affordable option for some buyers but for me quality is important and ART POSTERS are not of my interest.
